Generations of healings, including tonsillitis
Sometimes a simple question in response to a yearning heart can change a family for generations. That’s my family’s back story. My great-aunt was discouraged by a doctor’s prediction of incurability for an ailment her mother had. Then she visited a Christian Science practitioner who lived down the street. When my great-aunt poured out her sadness regarding the prognosis, this dear practitioner asked one question: “But have you tried the great Physician?”
The practitioner was referring to God, and she gave my great-aunt the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, which my great-aunt pored over. Through prayer in Christian Science, her mother was permanently healed of the ailment, ultimately living well into her nineties. And in this way the rest of the family was introduced to Christian Science.
I had the privilege of attending Christian Science Sunday School from four years of age through young adulthood and have shared these marvelous teachings with my children and grand-children.
