Paralysis healed
A little over a year ago, my balance and movement became seriously obstructed. However, I knew I could apply absolute spiritual facts to reverse the seeming impairment and find permanent healing.
I reasoned that I am the spiritual image of perfect God, untouched by material circumstances, and that nothing could hinder my carrying forward God’s work as a Christian Science practitioner. I understood that omnipotent God, who is infinite and All, could have no opponents. I prayed to know myself not as an aging mortal but as God knows me—His true, individual, ageless, perfect idea. I engaged a fellow Christian Science practitioner to give me prayerful treatment in Christian Science.
In the ensuing days, I appreciated angel thoughts that came to me and provided moment-by-moment guidance on how to continue to care for my personal needs. Because I felt safe in God’s presence and expectant of good, I kept walking and moving daily, although this required effort, focus, and caution. Paralysis on my right side precluded driving my car or writing legibly, and cooking for and dressing myself were taxing. I rested as needed, continued to affirm the truth and deny error, studied the Bible as well as Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and read Christian Science testimonies of healing.
