In the beginning …
In the only, now and always
Inspired by page 502, lines 24–27, of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
And the spirit of God moved
upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light.
Spirit moves my thought
from darkness.
My prayer, “God, help,”
is answered in goodness unfolding.
And God made the firmament,
and divided the waters.
Principle separates the chaos
from my heart.
Divine order clarifies my understanding,
bringing assurance of light and peace.
And God said, let the dry land appear.
Let the earth bring forth grass.
Mind’s elements soothe away my fears
and tears.
Solid hope begins to bud
and grow.
And God said, Let there be lights
in the firmament of the heaven.
Soul illumines loveliness,
revealing grace;
goodness rules,
confirming faith.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly.
Life abounds and elevates,
lifting to flight.
Deep thoughts swim
to the surface,
and I delight.
So God created man in his own image,
male and female.
And God blessed them, and God said, have dominion.
Love affirms perfection,
provides abundant, tender care.
I’m held, victorious,
complete.
And God saw every thing was very good.
And He rested.
Truth gives me rest.
I am at peace,
rejoicing, healed,
and blessed.
