Harmony reigns at home
Several months ago, I traveled to another state to help a relative and her family. The family’s normally busy schedule was soaring out of control, and one member was struggling with a debilitating physical problem.
The relative had expressed fear and discouragement during an earlier conversation, which lifted somewhat when I offered to come to help. Before we hung up, we talked about the importance of our shifting thought away from the human scenario to acknowledge the spiritual reality that their home is governed by the one ever-present and powerful God, divine Love, and His kingdom of heaven, which Christ Jesus promised is “at hand” (Matthew 10:7).
In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, the kingdom of heaven is defined, in part, as “the reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 590). My relative and I ended our conversation acknowledging that this realm of harmony is our true home.
