Rotation in office of Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editor

We wanted to let you know of a change in the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department of The Christian Science Publishing Society. David Kennedy, C.S.B., has asked to step down from his work as Editor, and the Board of Directors has elected Barbara Vining, C.S.B., to succeed him.

When David assumed the position of Editor in June 2014, he and the Board of Directors shared a common goal—to strengthen the periodicals that Mary Baker Eddy established. Those who have worked with David know well of his tireless and dedicated efforts to do just that. We know that our readers, who have been blessed by his many editorials and by other refinements to the periodicals, will join us in thanking David for the many ways his work has uplifted our magazines and the staff that produce them. In addition to his recent work as Editor, David had also served twice before as a staff editor for JSH. So in saying thank you to him now, we do so with a happy confidence that he will continue to write and pray for these beloved publications.

Barbara Vining is well known to readers, having served for the last 17 months as Associate Editor, alongside David. She, too, has a rich résumé of working for the periodicals. From January 1993 to June 1998, she was Associate Editor of the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald. She has also served as President of the Board of Education.
