Normal hearing restored
One peaceful morning more than a year ago, while feeding birds in the backyard, I suddenly heard unusually loud sounds in my ear, and I appeared to lose my balance. I immediately reversed the suggestion of an attack on my well-being. I shortly realized that one ear was blocked. I couldn’t hear voices or gentle sounds in a normal way.
After that, I dedicated more time to studying the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson and reading the Christian Science periodicals. I began reading Christian Science literature almost nonstop.
Since childhood, one of my daily prayers has been to declare this statement from Mary Baker Eddy: “A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 463). At this time, praying with this statement prompted me to want to gain a better understanding of myself as a spiritual idea and to see that I was not a mortal.
