Back trouble healed, thought transformed
I like to pray for the world each day, starting with reviewing what’s in The Christian Science Monitor’s Daily News Briefing. I have noticed that many of the articles seem to imply a call for more love, but just more human love seems to pale in the face of the enormous need. In looking for a higher and more abundant source of love, Christian Science has led me to find great comfort in the largeness, the infinitude, of divine Love, God.
An experience I had a few years ago taught me a great deal about divine Love.
One day as I lifted a box to put it away, something shifted in my back, and I was in extreme pain. I began to pray. Making my way to the couch, I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. She shared many helpful ideas, but the one that stood out at the time was that human will has no real power. God is in complete control of His spiritual creation.
