God created me unblemished

I’d like to give gratitude for a healing of a wart almost a year ago. After noticing the wart on my lower leg, I immediately turned to prayer for healing. My prayers always begin with a desire to better understand God and myself as a child of God. The understanding we gain through prayer that God is Love and God is good, and that everything He created, including man, is His reflection, results in harmony and healing.

I have learned in Christian Science that any inharmony, or discordant condition, is the result of an error of thought, the mistaken belief that we are material rather than spiritual. So, I felt I needed a better understanding of myself the way God created me—as His pure and unblemished spiritual idea.

This passage by Mary Baker Eddy came to mind: “A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 463). This meant to me that, as an idea of God, I included not a single unattractive or offensive element. Instead of looking for a way to dissolve or remove the wart through medical or physical means, I began to pray for a consciousness purified by the truth.
