Healing of boils

We adopted our daughter, Natasha, from Ukraine when she was 14 years old. She learned English very quickly and went right into high school. I explained to her our family’s dependence on God through scientific prayer as we had learned in Christian Science. She was most happy to learn about God as Love and to pray to acknowledge His good creation.

A few months after she came to us, she developed an extremely painful condition of boils on the backs of her legs. This made it hard to sit and impossible to go to school. I asked her if she would like to have a doctor look at the condition and prescribe medicine for relief. She decided that she did not want to use medicine, but wanted me to help her learn more about the power of God to heal this sickness.

She told me that the symptoms of the boils made her think that God was draining out all the evils that were inside her. “Oh no!” I said, “God would never give you sickness to force you to be good. He created you good already because He is good. Our prayer is to acknowledge His pure love for you.”
