Healed of hip pain and impaired mobility
This is the first testimony that I have submitted for publication in the periodicals, though there is an abundant record of Christian Science healing proofs in my life that goes back more than a half century, which in my heart of hearts I have always cherished.
A few years ago my husband and I relocated across the country to Brooklyn, New York, when our daughter and son-in-law were expecting their second daughter. Our experience in helping out with the girls has been and continues to be a treasured adventure. A couple of years later, we were asked to escort the girls to and from their programs each day for the next six weeks. The older granddaughter’s program required I travel about 30 blocks at least three days a week.
Because this city was unfamiliar to me and felt very crowded, my preference was to walk this distance rather than take a bus or some other transportation, but just two days before this schedule was to begin, I began experiencing sharp pain in one of my hips. Right away I began to pray. The pain and impaired mobility brought to mind the general thought of a hip replacement. This alerted me to mentally contradict and counteract the suggestion that man, God’s spiritual reflection, could decay or be in pain, by replacing mortal concepts of man with truths about his immortal identity, as taught in Christian Science.
