Healing results from spiritual growth
I’m grateful for many healings I’ve had in Christian Science, and I’m happy to share this healing, which is very significant to me. My skin used to become intensely itchy after being wet. It would itch terribly for some minutes after I had been swimming, showering, or just getting caught in the rain, and I couldn’t do anything but scratch till it stopped. Anything else, including prayer, seemed almost impossible. This continued for about three years.
The condition was frustrating and puzzling. At first, I looked for a material remedy. I tried changing my soap, shampoo, moisturizer, and even my laundry detergent. I tried showering in tepid water, but the irritation continued.
I prayed intermittently, but I was a bit lazy about my prayers and discouraged. I felt as if the condition was a firmly fixed part of me. Thankfully, God did not leave me there, but lovingly nudged my thought away from material sense, toward spiritual understanding.
