Facebook or the Good Book?
I wonder what our world would be like
If the Bible became our Facebook,
And we spent our hours researching its text,
Finding joy and peace with each look.
If we needed assurance that all was all right
With our family and friends far or near,
The Book has a message so clear and direct,
“Be not afraid, God is here.”
We’re anxious for news, to know all is safe,
We turn to our Book—“Is all well?”—
And there we find these comforting words:
“Under His wings we all dwell.”
In looking for contacts, perhaps a new mate,
The message directs us anew;
“You’re wedded and cherished by God who is Love.
This union is anchored and true.”
Instead of the countless “selfies” of me
There’d just be the Great I AM,
A loving God who is only good,
And His image—the perfect man.
So take time from your Facebook and turn to the Good Book;
Research its messages deep.
For this is the place where you always will find
The assurance of good that you seek.
