Burn healed
I had been preparing a meal using a stainless steel skillet, which had to go into the oven at 400 degrees for half an hour. When I reached into the oven to take it out, the potholder I was using didn’t quite cover the entire length of the handle, and the end of it touched the heel of my hand. Ouch!
Without looking at my hand, I put down the skillet and prayed as I’ve learned to do as a Christian Scientist. I listened for the spiritual ideas from God that would tell me what was spiritually true, as opposed to what the material senses were reporting.
The idea that came to thought was that my life was not in matter. This idea is indicated in “the scientific statement of being” in Mary Baker Eddy’s book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 468). I had been working for some time to understand this statement better.
