A life corrected
Ambitious, I wanted it all.
It took years, but I finally built
“the perfect life,” the one
that would make me happy forever.
Or so I thought!
One day it all collapsed,
and so great was the fall of it that
I didn’t think I could go on.
That was the moment I first felt God
just loving me.
Now I have His bread to feed me,
His staff to lean upon.
I come, moment by moment,
to His well,
eager,
expectant,
joyful,*
imbibing the perfect life
that was always mine,
rejoicing that I will never thirst again.
