Prayers for Boston
[Question of the week for April 16, 2013: “Please share your prayers to uplift those affected by the tragic events on Boston Marathon day.”]
Every person involved with the Boston Marathon event is right now, and has always been, under the care of our heavenly Father. God is providing the constant loving care that each person can understand. Every need is met and every fear is calmed. God is the intelligence and the Love that every person can lean on. Every person in that event, no matter who they are or where they are, is right now wrapped in the arms of Love; only Love is present.

There’s a Christian Science Journal article by Barbara Cook Spencer, “An ‘Adder in the Path’ ” [November 1996]. It’s very helpful in many ways, including addressing the beliefs behind terrorism. It’s from a few years back but as timely as ever.

Healing article

Thank you so much, Marian. I found your article to be so healing and inspiring. Indeed, Christ is the healing message to all!

Practical examples
[“A spiritual approach to a balanced life,” April 9 audio chat with Ethel Baker]
Thank you, Ethel! Your insights and practical examples touched me in many ways. I particularly liked your story about Nelson Mandela and [the idea] to express our natural spiritual qualities in every experience. I also have thought deeply about your comments on self-control and that overindulging, while craving material things, is really spiritual starvation. Thank you for blessing all of us with your love.

‘Right on target’
I don’t give out a lot of praise—and certainly no flattery! The article in the April 1 Sentinel “Jesus’ call to heal” by Bob Bilhorn is “right on target.” It seems to tie into Steve Cole’s article last May in The Christian Science Journal, “A church built to last,” and Connie Coddington’s two Journal articles on healing others, August 2011 [“Straight talk about ‘the practice’ ”] and November 2012 [“High standards—healing results”]. Outstanding—Bob Bilhorn’s demands a reread. I don’t think the message has ever been more clear—for all of us—now is the time to get more involved in healing others. A very simple message. So thank you. I sense a quiet revival-awakening going on now in our movement.
