Engagement

Dave Horn

Youthful memories fade behind you
As you wait your wedding dawn.
Waking gently from the daydream,
Trustingly you journey on. 

Should some distant morning find you
Faltering, failing, far away,
May affection still remind you
Of your promise to obey 

Neither person nor possession,
Though these often seem so dear,
But the timeless Love that joined you
And forever keeps you near.
