Facial injuries healed
A few years ago I stopped in at a car rental agency because my car was going in for repair and I needed transportation. I intended to go to work that morning as soon as I could secure a car, so I had my hands and shoulders very full of all that I thought I would need for the day.
I should have noticed the threshold of the door while following the agent outside but didn’t because of the load I was carrying. As soon as I crossed it, I tripped and took a hard face-first fall, sliding to the bottom of the cement ramp with my things.
The concerned agent ran over and wanted to call an ambulance. I told her I would be fine. A couple of other workers helped me up and gathered all my scattered belongings. Then the agent offered to drive me to a doctor if I didn’t want to go to the hospital. Again, I assured her I would be fine. Finally, she walked me to the rest room, where I could clean up a little before leaving. I have to admit that my face looked a little scary when I first saw myself in the mirror. I cleaned up as best I could and left in my rental car.
