Our children—safe in Love
One morning while silently praying, I felt an overwhelming need to pray for our son, who was serving in the United States Air Force as a fire fighter. As I looked out the window, the sun was almost smiling at me, and I thought about God smiling on every one of us. The same sun that was shining through my window was shining on our son in Alaska, where he was stationed. And so was God’s presence right there as well. I acknowledged that God’s child is always under the protection of God’s law, for He is the only lawmaker.
As the children of God, we are always reflecting Life, Truth, Love, Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit—the facets of His nature—in whatever we do or wherever we are. And we are safe in His keeping. But it is not enough to merely say the words. We can prove God’s presence by having no other gods but one God, as stated in the First Commandment, and loving unselfishly our neighbors as well as ourselves. This is Christlike living, and it provides security, protection, and safety.
I knew that God’s love was right there with him, as well as the love I felt for him.
