LOVE NO STRINGS ATTACHED
"what the world needs now is love, sweet love. It's the only thing that there's just too little of."
This refrain from a 1960s popular song [lyrics by Hal David and music by Burt Bacharach], not only continues to echo down the decades. It speaks to the need of all humanity since the beginning of time.
But stop the music! Let's fiddle with those lines to take a look at what the world actually has now, and has always had, and always will have: the unconditional, unchanging Love that is God, who plays no favorites and has no limits. All that there can be too little of is our recognition and acceptance of this powerful source for good in the world, and our too little living of that love.
