HEALED OF HAY FEVER AND MORE
Reprinted from the online Finnish Herald of Christian Science
A relative from San Francisco visited me in Helsinki in 1980. I took her to an outdoor cafeteria—it was summertime. While we were talking, I started sneezing uncontrollably and apologized for my hay fever, which came every summer. She told me that one of her friends had been healed of hay fever when he understood that God created all, that all God made was good, and that whatever God made could not cause anything but good. Flowers and grass can bring us only joy and beauty. It sounded natural and true to me. We continued talking. She left Finland, and the next summer I realized that I had no more hay fever. And I've been free ever since.
That relative was a student of Christian Science, and after she left, I was so excited about what she had told me that I began to read Science and Health. (I had received it five years before.) Now the book opened up to me. I got in contact with Christian Scientists in Finland and started attending Sunday services, which were held in a private home.
Later, I had many more healings. My ears used to be painful every winter, but after hearing a testimony of a little boy who helped heal his mother, I was healed, too. The boy had learned in Sunday School that there is no sensation in matter. When his mother had a very bad headache, the little boy came to her, knocked on the wood at the foot of the bed, and said, "Can this wood hurt?" The mother said, "Of course not." After a little while, she was free of pain, and I was, too.
