PROVING GROUND

A couple of months ago, I went on a weekend trip to New York City with a youth group that included Christian Scientists, their friends, and several chaperones. It was a really inspiring and wonderful weekend, and my first day back I was still riding that amazing "spiritual wave" that only comes from feeling divine Love's presence.

That day, as I sometimes do, I drove to my sister's school to pick her up. We were both walking down the back stairs of the school with a spring in our steps. When I saw a loading dock up ahead, I decided to jump off it. Not really checking to see how far it was from the ground, I just figured I'd enjoy a feeling of air rushing past me, almost like flying for a moment.
