NEARSIGHTEDNESS CORRECTED THROUGH CLEARER SPIRITUAL VISION
Since I was about ten years old, I had worn glasses to correct nearsightedness and was legally required to wear glasses for driving.
For some time, I prayed specifically about my vision, realizing that healing involves gaining or regaining a correct view of God and His creation. More than just seeing better with my eyes, I especially wanted to see beyond the material picture of conflicting human wills, which seems so prevalent today.
I knew that in order to see God's child correctly, I had to start seeing God as the only Creator and understand better that all that He makes reflects His perfection. I regularly pondered this passage from Science and Health with key to the Scriptures: "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick" (Mary Baker Eddy, pp. 476—477).
