A PRAYER FULL OF INSPIRATION
OUR CHRISTIAN SCIENCE Sunday School in Nairobi is organized into four groups. We share insights together, from stories found in the Bible and from our own lives. The storytelling tradition in Africa is still very much alive, and we find that the most profound teaching can usually be found from the simplest of stories.
The class I teach has a habit of highlighting the significant words or sentences that we come across in these Bible accounts and discussing them, trying to get the spiritual import or insights that they contain. The Bible is of course full of inspirational experiences and gems that are just waiting to be found, and we make it our business to go treasure-hunting. The Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Lord's Prayer are without doubt loaded with spiritual gems, so we keep returning to them for new insights.
