A FULL-COURSE MEAL'
Like other readers, I caught my breath when I saw the cover of the May 22 "Abundant blessing" issue. It spoke so eloquently, in floral language, of what I was already experiencing, and each page was a further unfolding. I love to think that each blossom is a promise that unfolds in fruitage, which is what the articles demonstrated.
My living room window looks out into the crown of a cherry tree, so I had just had several weeks of cherry blossoms. Then I went to Denmark for almost a month, and the cherry trees started coming out while I was there. In fact, the lower trunks of several trees in front of the house where I stayed part of the time were "spiraled" with single cherry blossoms bursting from the trunks. I don't know if someone had cultivated that effect, but it was awe-inspiring.
Actually, I came home to six new issues of the Sentinel. And each day I've been back, I've sat down and read through a whole issue. Each time it's been like having a full-course meal. I've enjoyed the unity of the subject matter and the unifying effect of colors— something that has been less evident when I've read only one article per day.
Thank you for the thoughtful preparation of each issue.

ARTICLE LEADS TO HEALING
After I read the June 19 issue [" ...practical, operative Christian Science'"] late one evening, the article by Bart R. van Eck titled "Spirit versus matter in healing" held my attention as I put down the magazine and went to sleep.
In the night, I woke up, very uncomfortable with internal pain. I was in some distress, but also eager to reread Mr. Van Eck's article to understand better the point he had made in describing how he learned that he had wrongly considered matter to be "anything and everything I could see and touch... whereas Spirit was abstract omnipresence without visible manifestation."
What happened, he said, was that a Christian Science practitioner pointed out to him that spiritual ideas are "real and tangible" (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 269) and that "man is God's image" (p. 120). This realization, together with a thorough reading of Science and Health, had brought him healing.
After rereading the article, I wanted to get firmly in mind more about what he had learned; therefore, I used a concordance to look up the word matter in Science and Health. And having read the book through many times, the statements I found were so familiar to me that I could often complete the sentences. It was healing for me to read line after line on this subject, the word matter having over five pages of citations in my concordance.
The internal pain had gone while I read, and I began my day no longer tired, although I never went back to sleep. Thank you for that wonderful article on Christian Science being "practical and operative."
I can't say often enough how grateful I am that Mary Baker Eddy had the desire and strength to promote Christian Science in the world.

MEANT FOR ME'
I just received my first copy of the Sentinel yesterday. It was the June 26 issue on "disarming mass fear." I've been going through some anxiety lately, and this copy really hit home. It was as if it was meant for me. Reading it just makes me feel much better. It was terrific to get it.

A CAREFUL READER!
Thank you for the Sentinels that are so very inspiring and healing. While the metaphysics are always right, I noticed an inaccuracy in the July 3 editorial, "We protest." It states that Mary Baker Eddy's birth month was April 1821. It is actually July 16,1821.
Frankly, I would rather have accurate metaphysics to inaccurate birthdates any day!
