ANYONE CAN BE A HEALER

THE HEALING THREAD

INTACT. ENTIRE. UNTOUCHED. Those words come to mind when I think of my ability to heal. Even as a child when things at home were unpleasant and difficult, I could somehow always feel sheltered under the wings of the Divine. Perhaps that's why being a spiritual healer has seemed so natural to me throughout my life.

When I was eight, my paternal grandmother (not a churchgoer) asked me to pray when she burned her hand. I ran upstairs and did just that. She was quickly healed. I think I trusted, as children often do, that God would take care of her.

One time in high school, while I was swimming with friends, one of them got a cramp in her leg. They all knew I went to Christian Science Sunday School. She called across the water to me to pray. I called on God, and the cramp went away. These and other experiences made me realize that I wanted to be part of spiritual healing, either as a Christian Science nurse or a practitioner.
