IT WAS JUST A MIRAGE

I started attending Sunday School at First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Nairobi, Kenya, about two years ago, where I also played the organ. Last year I graduated from Sunday School, but have continued to play the organ and also to teach a Sunday School class.

One time, when I was trying to connect the water kettle, sparks blew from the electrical point, and I badly burned my thumb. It swelled, and very soon a blister developed. I felt so much pain that I was blowing on it constantly to cool it.

By morning of the following day, it had burst, and the spot looked ugly. I was alarmed. So I prayed to God to cast away that fear, because fear is one of the things that creep into our lives. And according to Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, fear must be destroyed in order to have healing (see p. 411).
