ANYONE CAN BE A HEALER

GOD GAVE ME THE COURAGE

SHORTLY AFTER GRADUATION from college, my husband and I bought a 100-year-old home on a lake. There was a small winding stairway that led to two small rooms on the third floor. One room looked out on the lake, and it was a most beautiful view. When I saw it, I knew it was the place for me to study the Bible and all that Mary Baker Eddy wrote. And to pray the way I'd been taught in Christian Science Primary class instruction.

Our infant daughter's room was just at the base of the winding staircase. When she went for her nap, I'd climb the narrow winding staircase to what I called my Christian Science office. I would spend two to three hours every day praying for my family, community, church, and the world.

My desire even as a child was to help others through prayer. When I was growing up, a Christian Science practitioner often prayed for my family. I wanted to do that, too! Migraine headaches, broken bones, blindness, coughs, colds, childhood diseases, and a heart condition had all been healed through prayer to God, and by letting the Christ, Truth, enter our consciousness and our home.
