'I COULD BE HEALED'
In 1992 I developed excruciating pain in my shoulders and arms. Accompanying this were disturbing problems with my heartbeat and breathing, which occurred in the middle of each night.
A medical exam revealed fibromyalgia. The doctor prescribed antidepressants, but they made me feel so mentally dulled that I stopped taking them after a few days.
I went to a psychologist who practiced hands-on healing. Although some deep-seated troubled feelings were uncovered, I had to go through the experience of reliving old, bad memories, and I didn't get any lasting relief—either mental or physical—from this treatment.
