NOVEMBER 21-28 IS NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK IN THE US.

THEY LOVE TO TELL THE STORY

After all, the Bible began as oral tradition. Tales told 'round the cooking fire, in the fields—passed along to children, visiting tribes, and distant relatives—of the ways God cared for and taught His children.

The title of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures evidences the importance Mary Baker Eddy placed on the Holy Bible. Her love for and lifelong search of Scripture, foundations that book. Its text references the Scriptures 225 times—either as Bible, Scripture, Scriptural, or Scriptures. It is not possible to read Science and Health without considering the Bible in a new and more spiritual light.

Appreciation for the art of storytelling flourishing! Open-mike nights that include professional tellers are easily found. Not so, however, with Bible storytellers. Particularly individuals who feel called to it as a full-time career. Two who do, shine as precious gems: Dennis Dewey and Tracy Radosevic. Each is internationally known as a master storyteller, and is in demand for the spirit and inspiration they bring to their work. And both are Christian seminary graduates devoting their lives to this unique ministry. Tracy believes she becomes a different person when she tells, and confides that it's about listening to God. She adds that it's not about her, but the story. And Dennis likens his style of telling Bible story to playing a Bach prelude and fugue and is convinced that the Bible is the "magnum opus of all opi"—the Book of books, the Work of works.
