AN AYE ON THE ELECTIONS
Slackers. Uninvolved. Apathetic. That's how a lot of people think of college students today. Right? Well, think again. Those labels certainly don't stick to college students Rebecca Miller and Elizabeth Lingg, especially when it comes to this election year in the United States. They may be on opposite sides of the country—Elizabeth, at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg; and Rebecca, at University of California at Davis—but their cell phones burned up the minutes as they recently talked with Sentinel editor Suzanne Smedley.
With the presidential elections coming, how would you describe the mood on campus?
Rebecca Miller:For the most part, our campus is very active in supporting everyone's participation in the [November] election. There are already a lot of people trying to get more students registered to vote.
