Prayer brings healing of strep throat

Some years ago, our children's elementary school sent home a notice warning that several cases of strep throat had occurred. When symptoms of a sore throat appeared in two of our children, both were healed within a day through my prayers and those of a Christian Science practitioner.

But then I came down with similar symptoms. I found myself in such discomfort that I was unable to carry on my normal work as a busy mother with five young children. My husband stepped in to do the parenting, and I drove to my parents' home several hours away.

I spent two days there in prayer and study. By the end of the second day, even though the physical condition had not changed, I felt mentally refreshed and ready to return home. I would continue to pray and felt certain that I would be healed because I knew that Christian Science teaches that every disease is really only an error of thought—and that when thought is transformed, the body is transformed as well. This change in thinking brings healing.
