The comfort of God's love heals flu
I rode my bike to work one day, and while I was at work, I began to feel very ill with flu symptoms—weakness and fatigue. As the day progressed, I felt worse until it got to the point that I didn't think I could even ride my bike home. But somehow, since I knew I had to, I mustered the energy and made it home on my bike.
When I got home, I was feeling really bad, and I thought I needed to just lie down. I had a meeting I wanted to attend that night, but I decided to skip it and stay home and pray. The reason I didn't take medication was that I had had healings through prayer before, and I felt I could rely on God to help me through this. I knew that this illness could be healed through a change in thinking.
As a student of Christian Science, I have learned that thought has everything to do with health, and that God is available to help us in times when we're not feeling well. Christian Science teaches that God is Mind, the source of all intelligence. God created the world spiritual and perfect, although our thoughts are often much more limited. I realized that this problem was coming from my not understanding something about God's perfect creation, including me. So I knew that my perspective would change as I prayed for ideas from the infinite Mind.
