A life revitalized; malaria healed

When I joined my sister, who was by then a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, here in Nanyuki, I had no real desire of becoming part of the church. Every Sunday we prepared ourselves and left to our different denominations. But there was one thing I deeply admired about her—her character and her way of living. She had many Christian Science periodicals, and many books talking about Mrs. Eddy's life. I found myself pondering these. I really felt a deep sense of love for the message they were communicating. In no time I found myself completely immersed in studying the Bible and Science and Health with her. I really felt a complete revival in my life, with a deep certainty that persuaded me that this was my right place.

I began attending church. The light from my sister's life lighted the way for me to become a Christian Scientist.

I deeply rejoice, and thank God for my having taken hold of Christian Science and making it my own. I have experienced many healings. The most remarkable one was a healing of malaria. On many occasions I had been hospitalized, but there had been no permanent healing. I would be relieved for a time, only to later find myself suffering from it again.
