The Sentinel: a catalyst for deeper study of the Bible and Science and Health
A friend sent us two letters she received from a former Sunday School pupil, a young woman who was a recent college graduate teaching abroad in Japan at the time. Before the young woman left for Japan, this friend had given her a subscription to the Sentinel—and it has literally reawakened the young woman's love and appreciation for God's laws of good. Here are excerpts from two letters from the young woman chronicling her spiritual adventure.
Dear,
This week I received my second Sentinel. I can't tell you what a difference I have seen in my attitude and daily life since I started reading the Sentinel. During my last year at the university, I sort of drifted away from Christian Science. I always knew God was with me and my trust in His love never wavered, but I felt that I didn't have time to study the Lesson* or anything else. I also seemed to find endless excuses for not attending the church in my area. My reliance on Christian Science, or rather lack of reliance, can best be summed up by the fact that I didn't even bring my Bible and Science and Health with me to Japan.
