Recently, I went on a trip to Europe with a group from school

Recently, I went on a trip to Europe with a group from school. I was enjoying myself when one night before dinner, I started to feel dizzy. I got scared because this was my trip to Europe, and I didn't want anything to ruin it. Just then, one of the chaperones saw me and asked me what was the matter. Since she knew that I am a Christian Scientist, she asked me what I wanted to do. I told her that I wanted to call a Christian Science practitioner. I did, and he calmed me down a great deal by assuring me that God is Love and that I am never separated from Love. I went to dinner holding on to these thoughts.

I'd like to thank God for always being there, wherever we are.

At first I didn't want to eat anything. Then I realized that I was hungry and got up to get some food.

The next morning I woke up early, before my roommates, and read an article from the Sentinel that included an idea similar to the one the practitioner had talked about—that "man is spiritual, the beloved child of God, so he can never for a moment be separated from God's care." I could see that just because I was in another country, away from my hometown, that didn't mean I was away from my Father-Mother God for one second! I prayed with this idea for the whole day. Near the end of that day, my teacher decided to take me to a pharmacy. I went in with her, holding to this thought firmly. By the time she bought the medicine, there was no reason for me to take it.

I'd like to thank God for this wonderful healing and for always being there, wherever we are.

Alisha Olson Carson City, Nevada

This healing was an important one for my daughter, Alisha, and for me. I have always encouraged her to rely on her Father-Mother God, and I have endeavored to understand that God is her only Parent, infinitely able to care for His child.

She was distraught when she contacted her dad and me from England very early in the morning. The fact that she had already telephoned a practitioner was a comfort to me. After I had spent a few moments reassuring Alisha of God's care, her chaperone wished to talk to me. She stated that she thought Alisha might have strep throat and that she was concerned about her going on the special tour planned for that day, as they would return very late in the evening. She was also concerned about contagion because of the fourteen other young people she was responsible for. She wanted my permission to stop at a pharmacy to purchase medicine for Alisha. I knew that the chaperone needed to feel at ease about her responsibility to all of the children, and I gave her my permission.

Alisha wanted to go on the tour that day, and I told her that God would be with her every step of the way. I also called the practitioner to support me in prayer. I then sat down with my Christian Science Hymnal, humbly asking God to give me what I needed. Fear is always a lie that needs wiping out with Truth. I opened my Hymnal to No. 124. The second verse of that hymn reads,

Beneath His watchful eye
His saints securely dwell;
That hand which bears creation up
Shall guard His children well.

Also, Psalm 121 was a staunch reminder that our keeper neither slumbers nor sleeps. With that, I was able to rest easily that night.

When Alisha called a day later, her voice was strong and joyous. Spirit's infinitude proved to be the only medicine required. The healing was complete, and all concerned were protected.
