The atoning power
Hold to the thought
that God, Mind, is All
When all the world blunders,
when sounds of sense
drift murkily
and like low, rolling thunder.
The world of Adam,
of error chaotic and tense,
rises with the drifting mist
and passes boldly
before our gaze,
painting its colors crude
on mental walls
of human conceit.
Sounds, feelings, sights—
all are falsely rendered
in the Adam mist,
the carnal mind's confusing haze.
This is not God's doing,
nor angels' work,
but mortals' own thought
and passing phase.
Seeing through all
the devilish denseness and lure,
we discover the atoning power
and reality-revealing love
of Mind,
bringing its own
clear picture true
of Mind's own world
and Mind's own man,
harmonious and pure.
