Before learning about Christian Science, I was totally dependent...
Before learning about Christian Science, I was totally dependent on my husband for my security and that of my children. I always felt that only he could protect us. Suddenly, for reasons beyond my control, he was gone. After that I learned about Christian Science, and I discovered where my real security comes from.
One night my children and I came home very late from a friend's house. When we arrived, the guard at the entrance to the place where we lived said that we were running a great risk, since many prisoners had escaped from the city jail and they were hidden around our houses. On hearing that, one of my children asked me, "Mama, how will we get into our house safely?" The answer came to me naturally, without having to think. I said to him, "God is our Father, and He isn't going to abandon us now. We are His beloved children, and our security is in Him." And the boy asked again, "And if the thieves are inside the house?" Then I perceived that God gives good to all His children, and we can love everyone, since God's love is infinite. That is what I replied. While I was talking I felt a very great peace. I understood "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear," as the Bible says (I John 4:18).
I realized at that moment that our security comes from God, divine Love. We entered our house with compete tranquillity and safety. I am very grateful for that infinite protection. I was permanently healed of fear.
