I am eternally grateful to God and to my mother for having brought Christian Science into our home. Early on, I had healings of chronic nosebleeds and tonsillitis. More recently, early one morning, I wakened with sharp abdominal pains. There was no apparent reason for this, and the severity of it was shocking to me. After I lay in bed for a while praying, declaring man's good and perfect likeness to God, I decided to get out of bed to start my morning chores. As I started to make a pitcher of juice for the children, I soon found that I was unable to perform that simple task because of the return of the pain. I went back to my bedroom to waken my husband and ask him to care for the children while I continued to pray.

There has been no recurrence of the abdominal pain.

As I sat down, one thought that was crystal clear to me was that I could be and would be healed. As the pain persisted, I called a practitioner for treatment. I forget what was said in that conversation, but I instantly felt better and decided to start my study of the weekly Bible Lesson. A verse from Isaiah hit me with great force: "For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us" (33:22). I was struck with the awesome power of this ever-loving God as Lawgiver. It is His spiritual law that I must be under and that totally wipes out so-called physical law. And the reaffirmation in that Scripture that I indeed would be, and in fact was, saved completely removed my fear. I knew that I was healed. I rejoiced in calling the dear practitioner back to let her know of the quick healing.

It has been four years since that morning, and there has been no recurrence of the trouble.
