Blessing all mankind
This week we reflect on the induction of Mary Baker Eddy into the National Women's Hall of Fame in the United States, and on the Honor Code at Connecticut College, New London.
Last October, Mrs. Eddy, Founder and Leader of Christian Science, was among eighteen distinguished American women inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame. Mrs. Eddy was selected as "the only American woman to found a lasting American-based denomination."
The ceremony was held in historical Seneca Falls, New York, the birthplace of women's rights in the United States and site of the first Women's Rights Convention in 1848. Those honored are chosen for their contribution to society in general, for their "trailblazing" work in a profession, and ultimately on the enduring value of their accomplishments.
