I would like to give my testimony of a healing which took place...

I would like to give my testimony of a healing which took place two years ago. Hurrying up to my work, I was careless enough to pour about two liters of boiling water on my leg. The pain was awful, but I did not consult a doctor, nor did I seek any medical help. I continued to go to work every day. I prayed for myself incessantly and after a short time my leg was nicely and completely healed, without any trace of the burning.

Another healing took place last year. When I was at my workplace, I suddenly got my foot tangled in an electric cable that was lying on the floor. I had such a bad fall that I broke my collarbone. My hand was very painful and completely stiff. I was taken to a hospital, where a surgeon set the broken bone and put a plaster cast on my upper body. I was told it was quite serious. At first I had thought it necessary for me to cancel my trip to my Christian Science association meeting, though it was so very important to me. But after a period of inspired prayer, I made up my mind to have the plaster taken off my body, which the doctor did with great reluctance on my firm request. I went to my association meeting and I found it very inspiring and helpful for my healing. Soon my collarbone and hand had healed completely, with none of the complications the doctor was so sure would be unavoidable.

Now I want to share a healing I cherish so much, for which I had been waiting for about ten years. For many years I had been very fat. I kept on praying, and also worked with a Christian Science practitioner, to be healed of being overweight. On page 254 of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy we read: "Individuals are consistent who, watching and praying, can 'run, and not be weary; ... walk, and not faint,' who gain good rapidly and hold their position, or attain slowly and yield not to discouragement. ... When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path."
