Turning again to God
Throughout my college life I never thought about God, let alone went to church or owned a copy of the Bible. Then, shortly after college, a physical difficulty arose that exhausted much money and crippled my moral resolve for several years. When all medical and traditional methods failed, total confusion set in and I looked left and right, forward and backward, for any method of treatment at any cost.
But then, the idea of turning to God came to me. Where, and through what avenue? was the difficult question to answer. Perhaps under the roof of a church building and/or through the Holy Bible, I thought.
My first choice was the Bible. I secured a copy and decided to turn at random to its pages every night before going to bed. The readings, however, had no healing effect, for I had little inspiration or understanding. So I had turned to one of the crowd-pulling local churches with the hope of securing life and longevity. My interest in the doctrines of this church also brought no sign of relief.
