How grateful I am for Christian Science, and to have it be our family's way of life.
One afternoon I picked up my daughter from preschool and took her back to my office for an hour or so while I caught up on a little work. When I heard her crying, I looked up to see a fellow employee (who was also a Christian Scientist) coming to me with her. As they approached I began to pray, simply knowing that nothing evil could interrupt the harmony of God's man. I set my daughter on my lap and told her that God loved her, and that whatever was troubling her could not be true because she reflected God and so included only good. She said she had hurt her arm when she jumped off something. When I looked I saw that her arm was out of shape and clearly broken.
I picked up the phone with her still on my lap, and called a Christian Science practitioner for the help of prayer. Trying not to alarm the child, I told the practitioner that she had jumped off something and now her arm was not straight. The practitioner agreed to pray immediately. I hung up the phone, picked up my daughter, and started walking to my car.
