Several years ago I was a regular player in a local community volleyball league. One Sunday afternoon during a game I fell, turning my ankle. I knew from my study of Christian Science, and from past experience, that pain and impairment were never part of God's will for me. I prayed as best I could on the spot, and continued playing, expecting that my prayer and immediate return to the game would bring about a quick healing.
Although I made it through the game, by early evening I was having considerable difficulty walking. Later that evening I needed assistance to get to my car, and that night literally had to crawl around my apartment. The slightest movement was quite painful.
I very much desired to find full healing through Christian Science. Also, I had just started a new job, and knew a project planned for Monday morning would consist largely of strenuous physical labor. So I decided I would not go to bed that evening until the condition was healed and I could walk freely.
