I am pleased to relate an experience I had recently when in Paris. A swelling appeared on the left side of my neck, which prevented me from opening and closing my mouth. Then my face began to swell, and I became very afraid.

I called a friend and told her about the problem, and she immediately sent a doctor to see me. When he arrived, he told me that I had asthma and mumps. Two days later I had to return to Montevideo; obviously this threatened to upset my plans. In view of that, I called my mother in Montevideo, and she immediately called a Christian Science practitioner. He began to deny the spiritual reality of disease and to affirm my perfection as a child of God; he also affirmed the unchangeableness of the divine plan for me, which was good, and could not be interrupted. The practitioner told her all this on the telephone, and in spite of the distance, I immediately felt the spiritual help.

The whole condition disappeared instantaneously, and, thanks be to God, I was able to travel as planned. The diseases didn't return.
