Taking the stress out of relationships

When relationships are challenging, we can find peace of mind, and healing, through obedience to Jesus' precepts.

It's good to know that we're not helpless when relationships are difficult. There is something we can do right away. A first step is to get control of our state of thought to deal with our own thinking when discord looms.

"Our thinking?" someone may be saying. "But it's so-and-so who is causing all the trouble. When he (or she) thinks and acts differently, things will be better." That may appear to be the case. But healing can begin now, for all concerned. And it can begin with us.

This point is illustrated in an exchange Christ Jesus had with one of his disciples. It seems that Peter wanted to know just what would happen to another disciple. Jesus replied, speaking of John, "If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me" (John 21:22).
