The teachings of Christian Science have been "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119:105). I have had many healings, but three in particular stand out to me, as each one was a chronic difficulty.

For years I had been overcome with airsickness whenever I traveled by plane, and this would spoil what would otherwise have been a happy occasion. One evening I was on my way home from visiting a Christian Science practitioner regarding an entirely different matter. I looked up at the sky, which was especially clear and filled with stars, and realized something of the order, harmony, and perfect balance of the universe. Even though the problem of airsickness had not been on my mind at the time, I applied that realization to the situation. I knew that if God could maintain such order and balance in the spiritual universe, of which I was part, then He maintained me in perfect relationship to everything in this universe; there could be no imbalance.

It wasn't long before I had occasion to take another flight. This time the journey was much more comfortable. Since then I have taken many flights, both in jets and in small planes, and have never had any trouble with airsickness. I can now sing, in the words of No. 136 in the Christian Science Hymnal, "I climb, with joy, the heights of Mind,/To soar o'er time and space...."
