I had no faith at first that Christian Science could heal me...
I had no faith at first that Christian Science could heal me; but it did, and then I had faith. Let me explain.
I'd been studying Christian Science only a few weeks when, through pondering "the scientific statement of being" (see Science and Health, p. 468), I was healed instantly of a headache. I still remember my feeling of awe and tremendous joy; this healing gave me the faith I needed, and I settled down to a dedicated study of Christian Science, because I had other needs.
Prior to finding Christian Science, I had been to a doctor and specialist for a throat problem, had undergone X-rays and tests, and was terribly worried about my condition. But after three weeks' study, I felt a definite change for the better. There were wonderful healings of fear as I held in thought verses from the twenty-third and ninety-first Psalms. As the fear went, I was left with a wonderful peace. And the entire throat problem disappeared completely.
