"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" (Psalms). Two years ago I noticed a growth on one of my arms. I had been concerned about a family member whose life was threatened by disease, and I was afraid that this concern was a factor in what I saw as my own difficulty.
A Christian Science practitioner and I prayed about this condition over a period of a month with spiritual truths from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Some of the passages we read and studied had to do with the idea of true growth being spiritual; some had to do with God's ever-present perfection.
By Easter Sunday the growth had mostly dried up. As I changed clothes after dinner, I saw it was gone from my arm. Gratitude filled my thought. I remembered one of the passages from Science and Health I'd been studying, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." And so it had proved.
