"I've lost my job!"
At times we get so caught up in our work or job that we become totally absorbed in it, to the exclusion of almost everything else. Sometimes when this happens others see us as workaholics, Type A personalities, a company woman or a company man. We may even think of ourselves in those terms. Then one day, for whatever reason, we may find ourselves out of work. We've lost our job, and we feel that we are "lost" too.
Frightened and uncertain about what to do next, we may, in despair, cry out, "I've lost my job. What will I do? What can I tell my family? How will I pay my bills?"
When we are faced with the prospect of joblessness, with no immediate employment opportunity in sight, there is something we can do—something much more productive than frantically running from interview to interview or giving in to a feeling of hopelessness and despair. We can look to God for a way out.
