Christian Science came to our family through a healing of peritonitis my cousin had. She later became a Christian Science practitioner and helped others for many years.
I did not take up the study of Christian Science seriously until my children were two and three years of age, when I wanted them to attend a Sunday School. My daughter attended regularly until the age of twenty. I am happy that her two daughters have done likewise.
In 1987 I had a healing of what was probably blood poisoning. I had been painting my garage floor because I wanted it clean when my grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to swim in my pool. In cleaning up some tools that had paint on them, I accidentally cut my leg. I paid little attention at the time except for cleaning it and putting on a bandage. The next day, however, there were very noticeable streaks running up my leg, and it was badly inflamed. One of my grown-up grandsons happened to come by that day, and when he saw my leg, he was very concerned.
